Access rooted in community.
Clinical research delivered in healthcare settings patients know and trust, with nationwide at-home reach, from one partner.
One clinical trial agreement and one project manager across every location.

Our network at a glance
Network figures as of October 1, 2026.
Why community access matters
Patients participate where they already receive care.
Hawthorne Health operates a large network of community research sites embedded in independent pharmacies and community healthcare settings. Our sites are located where traditional research sites are not, opening participation to patients who have traditionally been excluded from research.
Traditional trial sites are concentrated in metropolitan centers, far from where most patients live. 67% of U.S. counties host no clinical trial recruitment, 70% of patients live more than two hours from a study site, and patients trust a known provider 2.5 times more than a research site doctor.
Greater access improves enrollment performance, retention, protocol adherence, and timeline predictability.
Delivery models
Choose the setting that fits the protocol. The structure behind it stays the same.

Community Site Network
- Sites embedded in independent pharmacies and community healthcare settings
- Therapeutic focus across cardio-metabolic, infectious disease and vaccines, respiratory, gastroenterology, dermatology, neurology, allergy and immunology, and rheumatology
- Expansion underway in additional states

At-Home Trials
- In-home visits by licensed registered nurses, GCP/ICH and protocol trained
- Local and central lab collection, on-site processing, IATA-compliant shipment
- Primary and backup nurses assigned by geography; on-call support typically within 2 to 4 hours

Hybrid Trials
- Site visits and home visits combined under a single operational structure
- One contract and one project manager across all study locations
- Delivered at cost structures comparable to traditional trials
One model, consistently applied
What this means for your study
All Hawthorne sites and home visits operate under the same centralized structure. Local teams focus on patient identification, community engagement, and day-to-day coordination.
Access
Patient populations traditionally excluded from research, reached through settings they already trust.
Faster startup
A single contract and centrally managed activation across all locations.
One point of accountability
One project manager, unified oversight, and consistent reporting from site to home.
Audit-ready execution
Training, delegation, and documentation maintained in 21 CFR Part 11-compliant systems, available for PI and sponsor review.
Investigators
Experienced investigators. Centrally supported.
More than 30 investigators across our community sites, credentialed physicians practicing in the communities where our sites operate. Board certifications span internal and family medicine, cardiology, neurology, dermatology, allergy and immunology, rheumatology, endocrinology, pediatrics, and more.
Therapeutic areasRecruitment
Patient identification where patients already are.
Pharmacy prescription history and community relationships support pre-screening and referral, so recruitment starts with people who are already in the building.
