What Participation Typically Looks Like

Every study is different, but most follow a similar process. Here’s what you can generally expect when you express interest in a clinical research study.

You complete a form or speak with our research team.

2. Learn About the Study

A research coordinator explains the study in plain language and answers your questions.

3. Informed Consent

You review a detailed consent form outlining the study, risks, and your rights. You decide whether to participate.

4. Screening

We confirm whether you meet the study’s eligibility criteria.

5. Study Participation

This may include visits, questionnaires, tests, or medications—depending on the study.

6. Follow-Up

Some studies include follow-up visits or check-ins after participation ends.

You may stop participating at any time, for any reason.

Participate in Research

Hawthorne Health conducts a variety of clinical research studies for individuals of different ages and health backgrounds. Studies may take place entirely from home or at participating pharmacy or community locations. You do not need health insurance to participate in studies.
